The task

PESHI is a seafood restaurant on Okhotny Ryad, across from the Kremlin and the State Historical Museum: an aquarium, a caviar bar, a catch from around the world. They needed a website that conveys the restaurant’s level without loud words.

The idea

An intro video: the dining room is underwater, the water drains out through the window, and what remains is a set table facing the Historical Museum and the headline “An ocean across from the Kremlin”.

What's on the site
  • “Choose your own” aquarium: the fish, the cooking method, the weight and an approximate total
  • Your aquarium pick carries straight over into the table booking request
  • A catch board styled like an airport departures board: six regions and their distance from Moscow
  • “The view outside”: scrolling takes the day from noon to midnight
  • Caviar bar, champagne cellar, an interactive floor plan, the menu and wine list
Intro and loop are Kling videos, with a separate vertical version for phonesAquarium photos change with a WebGL “wave” transitionAnimations in GSAP, smooth scrolling with Lenis
